Dosage & Usage
A common dosage range is 10–30 mg per day for men. Beginners often start at 10 mg daily, intermediates at 20 mg, and some go up to 30 mg. For women (if used at all; not common due to lack of research, but some do), 5–10 mg/day is typical. This liquid is dosed at 30 mg/mL (for example). Using the dropper, measure the desired dose: e.g., 0.5 mL for ~15 mg, 0.67 mL for ~20 mg, 1 mL for ~30 mg. Squirt the liquid into your mouth (under the tongue for potentially faster absorption) and swallow. You can chase with water or juice to wash down any residual. RAD-140 has a half-life of ~24 hours, so dosing once per day at a consistent time is ideal. Many take it in the morning or pre-workout. Cycle length is typically 6–12 weeks. Due to its suppressive nature, a full PCT is recommended after cycling RAD-140. During the cycle, ensure you maintain a high protein diet and proper training to maximize the anabolic effects.
Mechanism of Action
RAD-140 binds with high affinity to the androgen receptor (AR) in muscle and bone tissue. When it binds, it selectively activates anabolic pathways similar to how testosterone would, but because it’s selective, it largely avoids activating ARs in other tissues like the prostate or scalp hair follicles (hence reduced side effects in those areas). In muscle cells, AR activation by RAD-140 upregulates genes responsible for muscle protein synthesis, leading to muscle fiber growth and strength gains. It also has an anti-catabolic effect, meaning it helps prevent muscle breakdown, which is useful in a caloric deficit. RAD-140 has been shown to reduce SHBG levels, which then increases free testosterone. More free testosterone can further enhance muscle building and libido. Additionally, RAD-140 lowers luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) during use (because it sends an androgenic signal to the hypothalamus/pituitary, they think the body’s got enough and so natural production is dialed down) – this is why suppression happens and PCT is needed. One interesting angle is that RAD-140 lowers the expression of ESR1 (estrogen receptor alpha) in certain breast cancer cells, and in research it showed potent anti-estrogenic effects in those cells. That suggests it might have some direct antagonism to estrogen in certain tissues (though in a bodybuilding context, its main significance is no direct estrogen conversion). RAD-140 also appears to activate AR in the brain, which can have neuroprotective effects; in rat models of neurodegenerative disease, it reduced cell death and improved outcomes. This brain action might also explain reports of increased aggression or drive in the gym – anecdotally, users sometimes feel more “alpha” or focused, which is a common effect of androgen agonism in the CNS. Importantly, RAD-140’s anabolic effects plateau with dose – mega-dosing beyond 30 mg likely yields diminishing returns and more side effects. At receptor level, once ARs are saturated, extra compound doesn’t give more gains, it just sits around possibly causing stress on the liver or lipids.

Even though RAD-140 doesn’t convert to estrogen, having some estrogen in your system is beneficial for muscle growth, libido, and joint health. Do not stack it with an AI (aromatase inhibitor) unless absolutely necessary; most find estrogen levels drop slightly on cycle since natural test is suppressed, so adding an AI could crash estrogen too low. Side effects can include: suppression of natural T (almost guaranteed at muscle-building doses), potential increase in blood pressure, slight lipid changes (HDL can go down a bit, LDL up), and in rare cases irritability or aggression. It does not typically cause hair shedding or acne in those not predisposed, since it doesn’t convert to DHT. Always get your SARM from a reputable source – RAD-140 is often faked with prohormones. During a cycle, support your health with fish oil (for lipids), maybe a liver supplement (though SARMs are mild on liver compared to orals), and lots of water. Post cycle, run a SERM like Nolvadex or Enclomiphene to reboot testosterone production. On a positive note, many users report keeping the majority of gains after PCT, as long as diet and training remain on point. RAD-140 is one of the more powerful SARMs, often compared favorably to a moderate dose of Winstrol or Anavar in terms of results, without the liver toxicity or androgenic issues of steroids.
